Company history

In 2018, Jérôme Leclef and Bruno Hubert acquired a family-run SME founded in 1989. Its business philosophy already involved buying, selling, or reselling railway track equipment.

When they embarked on acquiring DAXI, its two future directors had never met. The vendor’s idea was to combine their talents. This solution appealed to them and got results.

Jérôme Leclef and Bruno Hubert lent the business something of a fresh start-up flair. Back then, they were just 40 with international experience and dynamic personalities that complemented each other. They both aspired towards continual improvement, transparency, and sustainable development.

One of them is from Flanders and the other from Wallonia. Two of Belgium’s best.

Bruno’s take on Jérôme

Very talented at comprehending structures and all the technicalities. He finds ways of adapting to specific railway standards, some of which are outdated but still in force.

Jérôme’s take on Bruno

He’s good at bringing people together. Identifying business opportunities is one of his strong points. He’s also brilliant at drafting crystal-clear strategies from germs of ideas.

DAXI and the BIG Group

In 2020, Jérôme Leclef and Bruno Hubert founded the Belgian Industrial Group. Their ambition was to create a thriving ecosystem of industrial SMEs. They wanted to boost economic development in Wallonia – and Belgium as a whole. Their goal was to create good-quality jobs locally and restore the Belgian technology industry’s reputation. BIG belongs to Agoria, a dynamic, influential federation of enterprises.

The two partners ensured that competitiveness of companies in their group was underpinned by their teams’ innovative capabilities. The corporate culture also revolves around collaboration, excellence and shared success.

Its performance has allowed the BIG Group to turn its values into reality, as follows:

  • At an environmental level, it minimises its eco footprint and encourages the circular economy
  • At a human level, it empowers employees to reach their full potential and fosters diversity, allowing them to become stakeholders.
DAXI – a sustainable company

The South Base Camp is close to Charleroi Airport (Brussels South Charleroi Airport), with industrial facilities, meeting rooms and shared office space over premises almost 3 hectares in size.

DAXI is a member of the BIG Group, alongside SPARX (piping and industrial boiler making) and AUTOMIX (installation and machines for the concrete industry).
